Privacy Policy

Last updated

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit Wellness Buyer Guide at www.wellnessguidelab.com (opens in a new tab) (the "website"). In this policy, "we," "us" and "our" refer to the independent operator of Wellness Buyer Guide.

Wellness Buyer Guide is an independent informational website about wellness products. It is intended for readers in the United States. It is not an online store, and it does not sell any products.

Summary

  • We do not require an account, and you can read the website without giving us any personal information.
  • The website does not set its own cookies and does not use advertising networks or tracking pixels.

  • Our hosting provider processes basic technical information to deliver and protect the website.
  • Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you follow one, the third-party website and affiliate platform handle your information under their own policies.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information.

Information we collect

Information you choose to provide

If you email us at wellnessbuyerguide@gmail.com, we receive your email address, your name if it is included, and the contents of your message. We use this information only to read and respond to your message. The website itself does not collect or store any information you type. Please do not include sensitive health information in your message.

Technical information processed by our hosting provider

The website is hosted by Vercel. As with most websites, when you visit a page, your browser automatically sends technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the page requested and the date and time of the request. Vercel processes this information to deliver the website, keep it secure and troubleshoot problems. We do not use this information to identify you or build a profile about you.

Analytics

We use Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the website is used in aggregate, for example how many times an article is viewed and which links readers follow. When analytics is active, your browser sends the following to Umami as you use the website:

  • Page views: the page address (with any marketing campaign "UTM" tags, such as utm_source or utm_campaign, but without other URL parameters), the page title, and the domain of the website that referred you, rather than its full address.
  • Article views: the article's name, web address name (slug) and category, along with the referring domain and any UTM tags.
  • Affiliate link clicks: the article you clicked from, the product, the button's wording and its position on the page, and the domain of the destination website. We do not send the full affiliate link or our affiliate account details.

Like other web requests, these requests also carry technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, screen size and language. Umami uses this to produce aggregate statistics, such as the number of visitors, and countries and device types. We see reports, not information about individual visitors, and we do not use analytics to identify you, to build a profile about you, or for advertising.

Analytics information is processed and stored by Umami under its own privacy policy. We retain analytics reports for as long as our Umami plan stores them.

Cookies and browser storage

The website does not set its own cookies, and the analytics tool we use does not set cookies. Our website code does not save information in your browser's local storage or session storage. We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels or similar technologies. Website fonts are served from our own website, not loaded from a third-party font service.

If we add other technologies in the future, we will update this policy first.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or "Do Not Track" signal, the website does not load its analytics.

Some outbound links on this website are affiliate links. Our current affiliate platform is Digistore24. When you click an affiliate link, you leave our website. The affiliate platform and the destination website may use cookies or similar technologies to record that you arrived through our link, so that a qualifying purchase can be credited to us. Our affiliate links may include a short label naming the article you clicked from (for example, "wbg-digestistart-vs-synogut"), so we can see which articles lead to sales. The label identifies the article, not you.

Any purchase happens on the third-party seller's website or checkout, not on Wellness Buyer Guide. That includes any payment details, shipping information and account information you provide there. We do not receive your payment information. The collection and use of your information on those websites are governed by their own privacy policies and terms, so please review them before making a purchase. More information is available in our affiliate disclosure.

Articles also link to independent sources, such as government health websites. Those websites have their own privacy practices.

We use information only to:

  • Respond to messages you send us
  • Operate, maintain and secure the website
  • Understand, in aggregate, how the website is used, so we can improve our content

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not disclose your personal information to others except:

  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of the website, its visitors or others

Data retention

We keep messages you send us only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and for ordinary record-keeping, and then delete them. Technical information processed by our hosting provider, and analytics information processed by our analytics provider, is retained according to those providers' own practices.
